Natural disasters

The people of Indonesia have had to bear great suffering in the past. Tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, flooding – Indonesia continues to be badly affected by natural disasters. Very many people have lost their lives, children have lost their parents, many have been wounded and even more have been made homeless.There are more than 200 volcanoes spread over the Indonesian islands. The most active volcano in the world, Mount Merapi, is located on the island of Java, which also covers our area of work in Central Java.Some of the natural disasters in Indonesia in the past:

Due to the earthquakes and poor building structure, the village school in Binangun in Banyumas was damaged; the roof is defective and leaks, therefore school lessons are not possible, especially in the rainy season. Our help is called for here.
